The veins in this rock have sparkles of silica crystals (siliceous), as well as large cavities which formed when the liquid veins cooled (vuggy silica). Apart from the white quartz, there are multiple narrow bands of light and dark layers to the left of the quartz veins, which means that the liquid (and accompanying metals) were injected under pressure on repeated occasions. Small blobs of visible yellow metal were observed in several rocks (not seen here). These metallic blobs appear to be gold, but we will wait until the rocks have been assayed by ALS.
